ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) ? Upsets dominated two of the first three races on the second day of the Breeders' Cup, with Tapizar pulling off the biggest surprise at 15-1 odds in the $1 million Dirt Mile.
Later Saturday, Game On Dude was the early favorite for the $5 million Classic, the showcase of the 15-race world championships at Santa Anita.
Tapizar beat a talented field that included 5-2 favorite Emcee, Shackleford and Fed Biz. He won by 2? lengths and paid $32.60 to win for trainer Steve Asmussen.
In the $1 million Juvenile Turf, 9-1 shot George Vancouver found a narrow opening in the lane and shot through to win by 1? lengths. He paid $20.60. Trainer Aidan O'Brien, jockey Ryan Moore and owner Coolmore teamed to win for the second straight year.
Groupie Doll came through as the 3-5 favorite in the $1 million Filly & Mare Sprint, winning by 4 ? lengths.
