A famous actress Face it, we all see famous actors and actresses on TV and we all want to be like them. Well, it?s not easy (or cheap) but it pays for itself in the end! Here are some tips. Edit Steps 1Get a good film acting coach! Even though you may be a born actor, you need a good acting coach. You?ll want to have a big or small resume before you get an agent. Ask your acting coach if he can tell you about upcoming plays and skits. 2Look for Community Plays. Though you will not get good exposure to casting directors and such, this is a good introduction to the acting industry. You will learn everything from the acting lexicon to rehearsal etiquette. True, you never know who you will meet during rehearsals or in a show or even from your acting coach, but this is just to get started. 3If you go to school, audition for parts in school plays and skits for practice so you can get better and become noticed in your city or your school. 4After you?ve been in a couple of films, ask your acting coach to help you put together a resume. 5Find an agent. They?ll have you work with photographers to get your head shot ready, and then they?ll pretty much take it from there. They?ll send your head shot and resume to Casting Agents to try and get you parts. 6Start acting in shows, movies and commercials, everything you can! Find casting calls in NY, NJ, and CT with SHOW BUSINESS WEEKLY MAGAZINE. They also offer the most up? to- date directory on agents and casting directors, and a new Theatrical Index detailing plays and musicals in various states of production. Their website, www.showbusinessweekly.com very clean and easy to navigate and they update their castings daily! Don?t turn down jobs unless you really think they might hurt your career. Edit Tips Get an acting coach! Though you may already be good, they?ll kind of be like your first agent of sorts. Have a blast! If you go to a talent agency slouching around, arms crossed, dragon breath, hair messed up and act like there are 1,000,000 places you?d rather be, you?re never going to get it. Toughen Up! If you?re sensitive and will burst into tears if someone says something rude to you, you?ll NEVER make it ? unless sensitivity is required for your part, obviously. Watch instructive videos online and do as much research as you can about the industry! The more you know, the more you are prepared! Edit Warnings Make sure that you don?t prepare yourself for fame right away. It takes time! Read over the agent?s contract before you sign anything. Don?t be afraid to ask questions. The average commission for an acting agent is 10%. This means that whatever money you make through their help, they get 10%. Read the contract and make sure it?s not over 15% (which is really high). Don?t just move to Hollywood. You need to prove you can get it done on a local level. Make sure that you have a degree before you move to Hollywood, unless you?re a kid. People that just get up and go don?t get very far and make little money. Be prepared for the worst. It?s harder when you?re a kid, because people don?t believe in you, and movie directors want ?experienced? people. Just remember: Never Give Up!
